B.Tech. Aeronautical Engineering

Aeronautical Engineering is the science involved with the study, design, and manufacture of flight-capable machines, or the techniques of operating aircraft. This course trains an engineer in designing, constructing, analysing and testing of commercial or military aircrafts, missiles, and spacecrafts.

Aeronautical Engineering Courses imparts multi-faceted training to students in areas like manufacturing and development of aircrafts and missiles. An aeronautical engineer can also design, test and contribute to the development of advanced technologies in the field of defence and space science.

The B.Tech. Aeronautical Engineering offered by the International Institute for Aerospace Engineering and Management (IIAEM), Jain (Deemed-to-be University) is a specialized program whose curriculum is designed to meet the current requirements of the aviation sector. It focuses on the vehicles which fly within the Earth’s atmosphere like airplane, helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV).

About the Program

  • To train the students with specialized skills and knowledge necessary to begin an exciting and rewarding career in Aeronautical engineering, Aircraft design, control, testing, maintenance of aircrafts.
  • To help students to learn fundamental Aeronautical engineering along with specialist in design and automation of aircraft systems
  • To develop aeronautical engineers with specialized skills in aircraft / helicopter design, stress and dynamic analysis with Finite Element Method (FEM), modeling and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis, control system analysis, design and analysis of avionics and propulsion systems, and testing of components and systems

Career Opportunities
Aeronautical Engineers don’t just work for the aviation industry, but also in Defence sector like Air Force. They apply scientific and technological principles to research, design, construct, and test the performance of the civil and military weapons, aircraft and missiles. Maintenance of the same also comes under their job profile. These engineers make use of Computer Software like Computer Aided Design (CAD) to develop the aircraft or related avionics.
The commonly offered job profiles/designations offered to Aeronautical engineers are:

  • Aircraft Engineers
  • Thermal Design Engineer
  • Aircraft Production Manager
  • Aerospace Design Checker
